Five Oaks Press & Friends: AWP Homestyle Reading

Date: April 11, 2015 from 5:30-8:00 p.m.

Location: 2550 Pillsbury Avenue South (corner of W. 26th St.), Minneapolis, MN 55404

Join us at an AWP off-site event for a night of poetry with free snacks and libations! We’ve reserved a beautiful space known as “The Headquarters” for Saturday, April 11th. We’ll have appetizers available (vegetarian friendly and some gluten-free choices), plus beer and wine.

We will begin the first hour with readings from some up-and-coming writers: Jia Oak Baker (Well Enough to Travel, forthcoming from Five Oaks Press), Sarah Sadie (Do-It-Yourself Paper Airplanes, forthcoming from Five Oaks Press), and Brendan Walsh (Make Anything Whole, Five Oaks Press).

The evening will continue with readings by the following celebrated poets:

hart_kenneth-01Kenneth Hart is a faculty member at NYU. His book Uh Oh Time won the Anhinga Prize for Poetry. 6:30 -7:00 p.m.

zulauf-01Sander Zulauf is a distinguished faculty member at County College of Morris who appears regularly at the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival. 7:00-7:30 p.m.

bj ward-01BJ Ward is the director of the Creative Writing Program at Warren County Community College. He has won numerous grants and awards, including a Pushcart Prize and Distinguished Artist Fellowships from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. 7:30-8:00 p.m.

Books by the above authors will be for sale at the event. Buy them and have them signed by the authors!
